Reminder: Neighborhood Association Meeting Tomorrow Night!

This is a friendly reminder about our upcoming neighborhood association meeting on Thursday, October 17 at 7 PM. The meeting will be held in Room 244 at Lafayette High School.

We have two important topics on the agenda:

  1. Lexington Long Term Planning Update: Representatives will discuss the potential impacts on our neighborhood and provide insights into upcoming projects.
  2. Lexington Parks Sustainable Funding Initiative: Our guest speakers, David Lowe and Virginia Meyer from the Lexington Parks and Recreation Board, will present an overview of the Parks Sustainable Funding Ballot Initiative. This proposal seeks to establish a dedicated fund for city parks through a portion of Lexington’s property tax. A referendum on this issue will be on the November 2024 ballot. David and Virginia will provide details and answer questions about this important topic.

Please use the library door to the right of the main entrance to enter. Our board members will be there to help direct you (see photo).

Clays Mill Road Traffic and Pedestrian Safety Improvements

Resources from LFUCG

We send a Thank You to Jeff Frey for stopping by the LFUCG and picking up several brochure of interest to the neighbors of PNA.  We have added links to these resources to the right of our page – scroll down to see the links.

Jeff spoke of how we need to be a known voice again with the LFUCG to keep the neighborhood vibrant and a great place to live.  Knowing the services offered by the LFUCG and understanding codes and guidelines will help us be better neighbors.

Melinda Ryles-Smith spoke of how receptive Peggy Henson, our 11th district council representative, has been in responding to our concerns.

Ideas and Concerns

At the last meeting we asked attendees to list their ideas and concerns.  A summary has been posted on a new Ideas and Concerns page.  We will post updates on this page as well.
